Sigh, summer is almost over...

The Swedish summer is too short!

Anyway, we are preparing for the fairs and the spring collection for summer 2012 is here! So we hope that the summer 2012 will be longer..!

We had our photo session in Stockholm at Drottningholm castle with all the tourists a couple of weeks ago. We looked like a circus company with a overloaded kids trolley with all the clothes. :-) A lot of Japanese tourists took pictures and were laughing at us! :-) I am glad that I can amuse people.

This is a very colorful collection with a lot of surprises - if you think you know what I am gonna do next season...you better rethink!

After our photo session I had a short holiday for 4 days on Gotland! We visited my fathers tomb (Gunnar Werkelin 1911-1983) and celebrated his 100years day on the 26'th of July(I know you cannot celebrate someone that is dead, but it's a good opportunity to meet your brothers and sisters).

Spring 2012...

Yes it is Spring to 2012 and almost summer 2012 too..!
I just arrived back from a trip to Greece and finished the collection for Spring 2012.. it is a crazy job I have :-P, but it is fun too!
I left a 13 degree rainy Sweden for a 27 degree sunny Greece.

This was my view from my hotel room... not so bad for a cheap hotel! :-)
First day I worked at the hotel and also took a look in the city - It is so sad to see what the economic crises has done to this country and to it's people.. We all need to take our vacation in Greece and help the country to get on it's feet again!

Next day were full of appointments and good food and a lot of wine too... hmmmm... :-) I do create better and more with some wine.. :-)

I think it will be a very different collection... with lots of... COLOURS! :-)
So... you will see it soon....

Last day I were invited to one of the factories big boss in his office for a private lunch... and of course more wine.. Veggies in different cooked ways - delicious!

After lunch I headed back to the airport and Sweden, but on my way I had to change plane in Frankfurt and as usual... The plane were delayed and they keep on changing gates until 15 min before boarding! - I really dislike this airport.. too big, too little staff and always a mess. 

But now I am safe at home, in sunshine and with a beautiful collection that soon will arrive!

fair, faIR, FAIRS!

We have finally arrived back home after 2 long weeks at interior fairs.
First we were in Stockholm, and the boot were crowded! We had to climb over each other to be able to show people the new stuff! So we may call it a success! =)

 

After Stockholm we went to our neighbours capital OSLO!  Not so crowded, but we did a great impression on some of the public. A lot of new customers and existing customers that love our new collection!

The Spring collection has now got company from the summer collection with a lot of linen, and a new quality: bamboo/cotton mix that give a silky touch!

Autumn collection 2011 has started out very well and the inspiration has its cradle in England - from Robin Hood to the Victorian era.

Christmas is a time for giving...

and we gave... to "musikhjälpen".
Last week the Swedish radio and television collected money to help children around the world.
And for us this is obvious to help!
For me it is very important that my clothes are made under the best conditions and that it is grown up people that are making them. So this gift was easy and I feel great that I can help!

5 years!

Today it is exactly 5 years since I made the first collection and branded design Werk of Sweden! The first collection were for Spring 2006 and we started out to only sell clothes in season to our resellers.
I was going through my computer to find some old pictures.. but I have had to many computer interruptions to have saved anything at all...

We have been working like maniacs this Autumn and soon we can all rest and wait for 2011 to arrive!

Two weeks ago i visited Greece and finished the collection for 2011... and it will be soooo nice ;-)

This is one of the first articles that will arrive to the shops in Jan/Feb. =)
